[FPN reporter Kim Tae-yoon] = Working-level officials from fire product manufacturers gathered to share various views and seek ways to win-win and cooperate in the fire industry as a whole.

 

The Korea Fire Industry Technology Institute (KFI) held the 2023 Working-Level Workshop for Fire Industry Manufacturers at Restry Lysom in Jecheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, for two days from the 15th.

 

About 250 working-level officials from 120 manufacturers in each field, including alarms, fire extinguishing, machinery, and flame retardancy, as well as employees of KFI and related organizations, attended the workshop.

 

"I hope it will be a meaningful time for manufacturers and KFI to share their opinions with each other, discover ideas, and reflect them in their policies," said Ahn Joon-sik, KFI's management planning director, in an opening statement. "We will create a win-win industrial ecosystem based on communication and cooperation." 

 

On the first day of the workshop, special education and divisional discussions by field were held, and on the second day, special lectures on human rights ethics and eco-tracking events were held to promote friendship among manufacturers. 

 

Special training was given by Ahn Myung-shin, head of the legal system team at the Ministry of Technology and Standards (KFI's strategy to secure the initiative in fire fighting technology) Hong Seung-tae, head of the fire fighting system research team at the Korea Institute of Procurement and Research (research status for upgrading fire fighting technology standards) Kang Hyun-sik, head of the Korea Procurement Research Institute, and Moon Sang-geun, a lecturer at the Institute of Successful Development (guidance on application for designation of innovative prototypes). 

 

On this day, Ahn Myung-shin, the team leader, recently explained the "Korea Fire Code" prepared by KFI to lead the advancement of domestic fire technology and secure global leadership in fire fighting-related standards and standards. 

 

"Korea Fire Code" is a systematic list of technology unit classifications that enhances access to domestic firefighting-related standards so that not only firefighting industry workers but also the general public can understand the overall flow of firefighting technology information at a glance. It consists of 324 codes according to the classification of 34 technical units. As of the 13th, anyone can download it from the KFI website. 

 

After the training, about 90 minutes of divisional discussion by field took place. At this meeting, KFI guided procedures such as type approval and product inspection and listened to the company's difficulties and suggestions. Manufacturers discussed in-depth ways to develop fields and strengthen friendship among working-level workers in a free atmosphere.

Meanwhile, on the first day of the workshop, the "15th Fire Industry Awards" was held together. The award was divided into three categories: fire industry technology promotion, new technology commercialization, and fire industry design.

 

The Minister of Public Administration and Security Award is Fire Industry Technology Promotion DivisionDam Tech, Tank Tech Co., Ltd., Jinhwa E&C MSL Compressor Fire Industry Design Division Jeon Gwan-woo, Choi Ji-an, and Lee Jae-hwa received it.

 

In addition, the National Fire Agency Award was awarded to Korea Drega Co., Ltd. in the Fire Industry Technology Promotion Division, Lithertech Co., Ltd. Myung Engineering Co., Ltd. in the Commercialization Division of New Technology, and Yeom Eun-bin, Lee Tae-hyung, and Kim Bo-kyung in the Fire Industry Design Division.

 

"The global economy is expected to grow slowly due to the global economic downturn, but technology development and investment for future growth should continue," said Kim Seung-ryong, director of the equipment and technology bureau. "We will actively reflect the voices of industrial sites to help the fire industry become a stepping stone to developing overseas export markets."
