[FPN Reporter Choi Young] = Tank Tech Co., Ltd. (CEO Joo Kwang-il, Kim Young-han) will unveil a new type of suppression equipment that can be called a rival to electric vehicle fires for the first time at the 2023 Fire Prevention Technology Industry Exhibition, which will be held from June 7th to 9th. This equipment has completely shed the concept used to respond to electric vehicle fires.

Usually, when an electric car catches fire, water is sprayed from the outside or a suffocating fire extinguisher is covered.Moving a vehicle and immersing it in a tank is also considered one of the methods of suppressing it.

However, such fire response laws are feared to cause unexpected risks to firefighters facing electric vehicle fires. Another disadvantage is that it takes a relatively large amount of water and time to extinguish the fire.

A new type of electric vehicle fire fighting equipment developed by Tank Tech was developed to directly penetrate the battery case located at the bottom of the vehicle and spray water inside.

In the event of a fire, simply install it in the lower part of the electric vehicle and automatically drill a hole in the battery case using water pressure. Tank Tech explains that the time to penetrate into the lower battery ranges from as short as 10 seconds to as long as 5 minutes.

It is easy to use and can secure the safety of firefighters and other users because it is simply connected to a fire hydrant or fire truck with a 40A fire hose without separate dedicated equipment.

After the development of the electric vehicle fire fighting equipment, Tank Tech has completed performance verification by purchasing the actual product under the vehicle from an electric vehicle manufacturer and going through several tests. At this exhibition, booths will be decorated to show the operating mechanisms of electric vehicle fire suppression equipment directly.

Kim Young-han, CEO of Tank Tech, said, "Because it penetrates the battery case, it can quickly extinguish fires," adding, "It is an optimized structure for electric vehicle battery cases and can be applied to cars of various sizes."
